Gissing Friday Cafe
The Gissing Café opens on the last Friday of the month to offer coffee and cake and light lunches between 11am and 2pm. Homemade soup and a roll, seasonal savoury dishes, fresh coffee, tea and cake. All to be enjoyed on the terrace if the weather’s warm, in the cosy café area
when it’s a bit chiller.

Toddler Group
All parents, grandparents and carers with children aged 0-5 are welcome at these popular stay and play sessions. Baby corner, toys, crafts and sensory play activities. First session is free, then £2.50 per family to include hot drinks and cake for adults, snack and drink for little ones
Please note, that families should not just turn up, the sessions are heavily subscribed so a booking system is in place. The booking opens every Wednesday evening at 8.00 pm on Gissing Toddler Group’s Facebook page and it is first come, first served for spaces for the following Monday. Crafters Café
A different project is completed at each of these monthly meetings which explore a wide range of craft techniques. Meetings are generally led by talented members and activities have included creative stitching, felting, printing/dyeing, crochet, jewellery making, card crafts and knitting. At least once a year there is a professional workshop given by a local designer maker and these have covered Lino printing, creative textiles and basket.

Garden Group
Speakers, demonstrations, competitions and plant and seed swaps are among the varied activities of this sociable group for people who are interested in gardens, gardening, and the landscape generally. No particular knowledge or expertise is required, just enthusiasm. There is usually also an annual visit to an open garden or nursery and a summer BBQ

Gissing Bee Group
The group welcomes anyone interested in bees and bee keeping, whether they are experienced bee keepers, beginners or those who want to know more. There are some field meetings as well as those held indoors and the group has an apiary.

Gissing Singers
This a cappella choir draws its singers from a 15 mile radius of Gissing. Its repertoire covers music from the 13th to the 21st century, including world-wide folk and traditional songs, spirituals and gospel, Taize chant, rounds, hymns, anthems, mote1s and short classical pieces and Christmas music. It sings by invitation around Norfolk and Suffolk and has a special relationship with Gissing Church, where it usually performs twice a year. Subscriptions to this friendly, harmonious group are £20 for an eight week term or a £4 drop-in rate.

Reading Group
Books for discussion are chosen collectively and range from classics to contemporary fiction, biography to science fiction with authors from both home and abroad. New members and new ideas for reading are welcomed

table Tennis Club
The Gissing table tennis club meets every week on a Sunday morning from 10.00 – 12.00. It is a friendly enthusiastic group of mixed ability and ages. There are 3 tables for play for either singles or doubles. It costs £3.00 a session and this includes coffee and snacks at break times. New members are always very welcome.

Gissing Parish Council
The Parish Council meet at Gissing Community Building on the 1st Tuesday of the month on a bi-monthly basis ( 6 meetings a year) time: 7.30pm. Starting in January.
